A British sci-fi action film about 5
adults who after a party experienced a worldwide blackout. The group wondered
and saw a city-sized spaceship was above them. They fight for mankind’s
survival.
“Oh God, I just can’t see any good
coming…” a line spoken by an old man in the movie, and he might be right as the
movie is dry and dragging, at certain point you will get bored and felt like
going out of the theater. It has an attempt to make you laugh but it failed to
and even an attempt to scare but also failed. And to add, a wrong move to make
this movie a sort of end-of-the-world theme with a low-budget as the viewers
expectations are high, for instance 2012 (2009), The Day After Tomorrow (2004),
End of days (1999) and the like.
One thing, the special appearance of
Jean-Claude Van Damme (Bloodsport/Universal Soldier) will not save the film although he showed his
skills in martial combat. The plot maybe patterned from an array of sci-fi
films about extra-terrestials like Chris Gorak’s “The Darkest Hour” (2011)
where 5 young people lead the battle against aliens who attacked earth thru’
power supply.
Indeed, you just can’t see any good
coming in this movie.
