Gayak is one of the official entries in the 38th
MMFF New Wave Special this year and only director Ronaldo Bertubin is a member
of DGPI - a promising and moving film
that one shouldn’t miss.

Gayak’s plot is unpredictable,
solid and tailored for Filipino audience. The lead cast bring characters to the
big screen effectively. Allan Paule as a father with unconditional love to his
son established the story from the start to finish that he is a virtuous man –
loving and religious - a perfect role for him. Sef Cadayona’s role is
refreshing and he really can act, Sef in Gayak is the opposite of Sef in Slumber
Party. And noteworthy to mention Evelyn Vargas’ acting – very natural and
prominent – I may say, striking.
I love the movie themesong, an OPM and Gerald Santos
sang it distinctively that one can say, “Sa Yong Pagdating” is one of those
timeless OPM’s we have. And really, this will be included in the list of filipino standard classis of Basil &
Leo Valdez, Jun Polistico, Nonoy Zunega, Marco Sison, Hajii Alejandro and the
likes.
Gayak as a whole has a remarkable cinematography,
the storytelling is unconventional, the plot is original, the transition of
events excites audience and very smooth, musical scoring is well-orchestrated
with the scenes of the movie.
Gayak is
inspiring and moving film for FATHERS, SONS and the rest of the members of the
family.
Celebrate Fathers’ Day by watching Gayak !!!
