Top 5 Horror Flicks of 2012 in the Philippines

                           Erick Matti’s
5. TiK-TiK: The Aswang Chronicles
The 1st Pinoy film that uses a green screen and the shooting was done inside a studio.
Visually stunning and nice plot. Remarkable and effective casting.
Looking forward for a sequel since this is a chronicle.

                                       Tyrone Acierto’s
4. The Grave Bandits
Like TiKTiK: The Aswang Chronicles the plot has the elements of comedy & horror.
The 1st if not the 2nd zombie movie made for a Festival but there are very few zombie
films made in Philippine Cinema so loyal to the production design such as this.

Best Picture and Best Director of the New Wave Specials of 38th MMFF (2012)
and the very 1st film of direk Tyrone Acierto,

                                                 Ron Sapinoso’s
3. Mangkukulob

The 1st Pinoy film with an original plot and storyline.
(Yes! it did not copy any concept from any suspense-thriller or horror movie shown)
Mangkukulob is very filipino in nature as it reflects Pinoy culture, politics and way of living.

The 1st full-length movie of direk Ron Sapinoso -  a multi-awarded graphics and animation designer -
who has numerous short-films in youtube (check it out Ron Sapinoso Channel).

Exceptional Storyline, Great Cinematography & Acting-Wise.

                                                 Yam Laranas’
2. The Road
Location shot was perfectly chosen that created a remarkable cinematography,
this psycho-thriller film  had a theatrical run here and abroad.

Story presentation is unconventional,  & fast-paced plot.

                                         Lawrence Fajardo’s
1. The Strangers

A perfect Christmas horror.
The only film entry in the 38th MMFF who brought a quality horror story.
With full of surprises and twists, The Strangers has the complete elements of a horror flick not just for
filipinos but even international audience will  be mesmerized by its' story presentation.
All aspects of the film is in sync and cleverly ended with a bang!
