After
giving you the Complete List of Characters and my summary (synopsis) of the
musical phenomenon of 2013, here’s my review on the lead actors/actress of LES
MISERABLES;
Outstanding Performance of an Actress in a Supporting Role is …
ANNE HATHAWAY.
as
Fantine, she gave a new interpretation of the most popular song of the play “I
Dreamed A Dream” which is different from the Broadway versions we
conventionally heard from the great theater actresses like Lea Salongga and
even with Susan Boyle’s version.
Anne Hathaway sang it with passion, love and despair. It did not sound like a
theatrical production or somewhat commercially made, the song transformed into
something that is more personal because of her distinct emotion she gave and
the viewers were able to empathize with her. Captivating.
For me, Anne sang it with more acting than singing that’s why the audience was able
to relate to her woes and grief.
Outstanding
Performance of an Actor in a Lead Role is …
HUGH JACKMAN.
-
He
did the same thing, he proved to everyone that he is a better actor and can
sing as he showcased his vocal prowess from the start till the end.
I must say that “Bring Him Home”
is
his best piece in the movie despite the fact that his original version
“Suddenly” is the song nominated for the Best Original Song.

Well, the rest of his
performances are well-polished and jaw-dropping.
On RUSSEL CROWE…
-
He
may not have been nominated for any category however his role was the most
vital in the play. Russel Crowe has been a 2-time winner in Oscars as Best
Actor thus it only means that he can act with excellence and superiority.
In Les Miserables, I must say
though he has improved his voice (as he undergo singing lessons for 4 months)
still it sounded too sophomoric and raw as he seemed to be struggling with the
songs. He has the best pieces of the movie and “Stars” should have been sang
beautifully. But mind you, it’s difficult to sing live on the set, as you can
see on the scene it was winter and cold makes our voice harsh which is
unpleasant to our ears but he managed to sing and it sounded well and fair.
On
TOM HOPPER…
-
He
may not be nominated in the Oscar’s this year but still he is a great director
for me. Visionary and Bold.
I should declare now that Les Miserables is the 2013 Outstanding Motion Picture of Oscars’.
If you haven’t watch it, you
are
missing another half of your life in the movie world.
