2012 is the called LANA’s Year with his Cinemalaya entry and multi-awarded film “BWAKAW”.  His 2nd movie after his 2006 movie “GIGIL”.
Bwakaw   has numerous awards here and abroad;
2012 Cinemalaya’s Directors’ Showcase NETPAC AWARD
& AUDIENCE CHOICE AWARD.

2012 Tokyo International Film Festival’s SPECIAL JURY PRIZE.

& HIGH SCHOOL AWARD.

Further, “BWAKAW” gave Eddie Garcia  his 1st International Best Actor Award
@ the 55th ASIA PACIFIC FILM FESTIVAL together with
Nora Aunor as the Best Actress  for  “THY WOMB”.
Both were also nominated for the same films @ the ASIAN FILM AWARDS which will be held in HongKong on 18th March 2013 where Eugene Domingo  won as
Audience Choice Best Actress last 2012 for the movie “ANG BABAE SA SEPTIC TANK”.

For 3 succeeding years, he wrote 3 award-winning screenplays;

that gave him his FAMAS, MMFF & STAR AWARDS laurels.
But he the limelight did not last long, between 2003 to 2005 he seemed to took a long break and bounced back via TV projects in 2007-2011 in GMA 7 as script writer/developer & creative director.

  1. Hi, if you're really a fan, I hope you have googled his filmmography, Bwakaw is not his 2nd film as a director...

    In 2007, he did Paraiso, an omnibus project for and about Gawad Kalinga together with Joel Ruiz and Ricky Davao. He also did an indie film entitled Roxxxane with Sheree and Jay Aquitania. And then Mag-ingat ka sa... Kulam, Tarot, My Neighbor's Wife, Yesterday Today Tommorrow and then Bwakaw. So Bwakaw is his 8th film after Gigil in 2006.

    Please do some research first before claiming anything or everything about the topic. OK.
